Sprinkle of Glitter no longer wants her sugar coated content, and aims for an adult audience.
We have always known Louise Pentland as the sugary sweet fairy that is Sprinkle of Glitter on YouTube. We’ve gazed at her high spirits in envy and giggled at the cuteness of her surroundings and gorgeous daughter Darcy.
But Louise has just put her ‘notice’ in to drop the glitter and add reality to her channel.
Sprinkle of Glitter blog was started in 2009 when Louise wanted to show the progress of her home DIY, but when realising how welcoming and supportive the blogger community was – she added beauty to her content. This escalated a year later into her YouTube channel, which now has 2.5 million subscribers.
We’ve been with Louise through her upsetting divorce in 2015, even though she kept her videos and blogs sweet, happy and positive. But she has admitted that since the big life changes, she has changed also and is no longer the sweet and ‘glittery’ 24 year old that she used to be. Of course, after having such big life knock backs – no one is going to always be smiling.
Louise admits that she is still the same person deep down, but she has matured and grown up. She’s said that she’s held back in her content to ensure she keeps everyone else happy – but this process has consequently left her bored.
Yes, Louise is bored of her content and not being herself – and we can’t blame her. You can never win with pleasing everyone and there is so much pressure with YouTube now. It’s not just a case of sitting in front of a camera and speaking your mind anymore. There’s so many rules and regulations and having to hold your tongue constantly must be a pain!
She has finally found the courage to own up and say “I’m now 31, and i’m bored of hiding”.
Surprising to many people, Louise is just a normal person. She likes to swear, drink alcohol with her ‘mummy friends’ and loves a conversation about sex! From now on the Sprinkle of Glitter channel will be aimed at an older audience were she can speak freely about sex, dates (and the bad ones too!), motherhood – but not just at how cute Darcy is, but the strains of being a single mother without being called a bad parent. And we’d appreciate her honesty!
“I need to shed this sugary sweet sparkles and unicorns thing”
She has freely spoke to her younger audience in her video and said that if they will not be happy with her new content from here on – that there is plenty of channels now that are perfect for all ages. Not many YouTubers would tell their audience (who is essentially their income), to move on if they aren’t pleased!
We are happy that Louise is going to be herself – and are very excited to laugh along with her!
Unfortunately, this is bye bye to ‘Aloha Sprinklerinos’.
