It’s Friday which means it can only be time for another Featured Vlogger Of The Week!
Amy’s channel was created in September 2012. In just four years, Amy has managed to gain 4000 subscribers – and the numbers are on the rise, she is predicted to hit 10k subscribers before Christmas.
She creates amazing beauty and lifestyle videos on both Wednesdays and Sundays. Amy also blesses her viewers with the occasional vlog!
As a university student, Amy often films videos about her university life whilst in her halls of residence. Her video theme is very cute and girly. With the pink text and pastel backgrounds – she is complete layout goals. Especially her video backgrounds.
We thought we would ask Amy Yasmin a few questions about her channel.
- What do your friends and family think of you doing these videos?
They’re all really supportive, especially my mum. She’s forever helping me film videos when I go to see her in Denmark, and she’s constantly letting me know how many views I’ve gained on each video.
- Why did you decide to start your channel?
I’d actually watched videos for a few years and I had always had this urge to start my own channel but was always too scared. I eventually managed to film and upload a video and just fell in love with the whole YouTube community. I just really wanted to share my thoughts somewhere and this seemed like the perfect place for that.
- Has there been a time you’ve thought about stopping? If so how did you get around it.
To be honest I’ve never thought about quitting YouTube, probably because I use it as my kind of outlet when I’m stressed. I do sometimes have times where everything in my life is too overwhelming and I don’t get enough time to upload, but I would never want to quit.
- What equipment did you start off with?
I actually started filming my videos on a iphone 5, I didn’t even have a tripod so I used to prop it up on a pile of books. But it did the job until I managed to get enough money to buy myself a canon 700D! Though I’ve never used studio lights, I much prefer to film with natural lighting.
- If you had to give a new creator one piece of advice what would it be?
My biggest piece of advice would be to be yourself, people love people who are honest and don’t try to be something they’re not. Also, remember to create videos about things that you love, YouTube should seem like a hobby, something that you enjoy, it should never feel like a chore.
Thank you so much Amy!
